Welcome to VelMentor IT Academy. By submitting an enrollment form and paying for our services, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.

1. Nature of Services

​​

VelMentor IT Academy provides online, instructor-led professional IT training.

  • Training: We are a skills-based training provider. We are not an accredited university, college, or formal academic institution. Our courses are designed for professional development and skill acquisition.

  • Certification: While all participants receive a Certificate of Participation, only those who successfully clear the end-of-course assessment will be awarded the VelMentor IT Academy Certificate of Completion. This document acknowledges your attendance and skills but is not a government-recognized degree or diploma.

2. Enrollment and Approval Process

​​

Our admission process requires administrative approval to ensure instructor availability for your preferred schedule.

  1. Submission: You submit an enrollment form selecting your course and preferred "Hours Per Day" intensity. This is a request for admission, not a confirmation.

  2. Review & Approval: We review your request to match you with an available instructor.

  3. Payment: If approved, you will receive an invoice/payment link.

  4. Confirmation: Your enrollment is confirmed and the contract is binding only after full payment is received.​

3. Scheduling and "Hours Per Day" Intensity

​​

You dictate the pace of your learning, but once agreed, the schedule is binding.

  • Intensity Selection: Learners may choose their preferred daily study duration, with a mandatory minimum commitment of 3 hours per day.

  • Course Duration: The calendar duration of your course is calculated based on the total curriculum hours divided by your chosen daily hours. (e.g., A 40-hour module at 4 hours/day = 10 sessions).

  • Time Slots: Specific start and end times for your daily sessions will be mutually agreed upon before payment.

  • Late Arrivals: If you arrive late to a live session, the session will end at the scheduled time. Instructors are not required to extend the session to accommodate student lateness.

4. Payment Terms

​​

  • Fees: All fees are strictly payable in advance of the course start date.

  • Currency: Fees are currently billed in INR/USD.

  • Non-Payment: Access to live classes and materials will not be granted until the finance team confirms receipt of payment.

  • Goods and Services Tax (GST) is applicable at 18% on all supplies made to recipients located within India, as mandated by the CGST/IGST Act. Supplies to clients located outside India are treated as Zero-Rated Exports of Service/Goods (subject to fulfillment of conditions under the IGST Act) and are therefore exempt from this GST charge.

5. Refund and Cancellation Summary

​​

  • Pre-Start Cancellation: If you cancel at least 24 hours before the first scheduled class, you receive a 100% refund.

  • If you cancel within 24 hours of the first scheduled class, you are eligible for a 50% refund.

  • First Session Guarantee: If a learner attends the first session and is not satisfied, a refund request must be submitted within 24 hours of that session. Upon approval, an 75% refund will be issued.

  • No Refund After First Session: Once the 24-hour window after the first class has passed, or if you attend the second class, no refunds will be issued.

  • Missed Classes: Refunds are not issued for individual daily sessions you miss due to personal reasons.​

 

6. Rescheduling and Pausing

​​

  • Changes to Intensity: If you wish to change your "Hours Per Day" (e.g., reduce from 4 hours to 2 hours), you must submit a written request. Approval is subject to instructor availability.

  • Instructor Unavailability: If VelMentor IT Academy must cancel a specific session due to instructor illness/emergency, that session will be rescheduled at no cost to you.

  • One-Time Free Rescheduling: Learners are entitled to one free rescheduling of their course start date or class timing.

  • Additional Rescheduling: Any further rescheduling requests will incur an additional fee of 500 INR/5 USD

 

7. Student Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

  • Technical Requirements: You are responsible for providing your own hardware (computer) and a stable internet connection capable of handling live video streaming.

  • Conduct: We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, abuse, or discrimination towards instructors or other students. Violations will result in immediate termination of enrollment without refund.

  • Recording: You may not record live sessions using third-party screen capture software. This protects the privacy of the instructor and other students.​

 

8. Intellectual Property

​​

All learning materials, slide decks, code repositories, and methodologies provided during the course are the intellectual property of VelMentor IT Academy.

  • License: You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use these materials for your own learning.

  • Restriction: You may not share, resell, or distribute these materials to third parties.​

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

​​

  • No Job Guarantee: While we aim to prepare you for the industry, VelMentor IT Academy does not guarantee employment, freelance contracts, or salary increments upon completion of the course.

  • Service Interruptions: We are not liable for interruptions to the service caused by technical issues beyond our control (e.g., regional internet outages, Zoom/Teams server failures).​

 

10. Governing Law

​​

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Kerala, India. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that location.​​
